Recorded live at WSUM 91.7 FM Madison on the last day in February, 2009, mother and child is a collection of songs and short, edited interview clips from the show Bridges and Balloons. Sounds were recorded live from the soundboard with post-editing at South Mills by John Kruse.

Castles showcases not perfection, but rather the uncertain reality of life - choosing to sing with shaky-strong voices and embrace mistakes as par for the course.

This live EP is the first recording to feature Lauren on backing vocals and glockenspiel.
